AB 1825, Sexual Harassment: training and education, requires that employers with 50 or more employees provide 2 hours of training and education to all supervisory employees once every 2 years by a competent trainer. To comply with this regulation, and due to many concerns regarding a company’s liability for the actions of its supervisors, we are providing this valuable session.
Not only do your supervisors need to know what they can and cannot do, they also need to understand their vital role in keeping the company informed of potentially risky situations. We will discuss many issues, including the following:
• Information and practical guidance on federal and state regulations;
• Prohibition, prevention, correction, and remedies of sexual harassment in employment;
• Different types of sexual harassment and how to recognize them;
• How supervisors should respond in a variety of situations involving sexual harassment complaints, or potential sexual harassment conduct;
• How the company’s policy on sexual harassment should be designed and implemented.

Every year the number of claims against employers filed with federal and state agencies such as Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Labor Commissioner, and others, continues to climb. Typical complaints include sex harassment, discrimination based on various protected categories, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations.
This presentation is designed to provide practical information on how to handle such complaints, including compiling proper information, and presenting proper written responses. It will also offer advice on how to actually present a case to an administrative agency, including forming a case theme and preparing witnesses, and arguing the case.
